Akita aerospace composites - plasma treat and bond selected samples

Akita has received a Phase I SBIR contract from the U.S. Air Force to develop a surface analysis method for plasma activation of aerospace composites being prepared for adhesive bonding.  The objective is to facilitate the use of adhesive bonding in aerospace manufacturing as an alternative to the use of fasteners. This project complements Akita’s other work involving development of novel surface coatings.
