Akita Innovations was awarded an SBIR Phase II contract by Naval Sea Systems Command for the development of “AM of Textured Piezoelectric Ceramics” under Topic # N241-040.  This award follows the successful completion of a Phase I SBIR contract which demonstrated the feasibility of fabrication of textured piezoceramics by additive manufacture (AM).  In Phase II Akita will translate our prototype resin systems onto AM equipment, demonstrate the manufacture of piezoceramic green bodies by AM, and evaluate the electromechanical performance of AM textured piezoceramics.
