Akita Innovations has been awarded a Phase II SBIR award from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) for Encapsulated Oxidizer Microparticles. In this project, Akita is working to develop and scale up a method for production of a stabilized biocidal oxidizer material. The oxidizer is encapsulated within a coating designed to prevent moisture uptake while preserving the activity of the material, while the production process will allow easier and safer scale-up.
